Scampoli Di Storie
Nouveau Grand Tour Residency

Scampoli Di Storie (Patches/Fragments of Stories) is a collaborative work between Tilla Giro and me. Within the framework of the Nouveau Grand Tour residency program, I was invited to work at LandWorks, an association of architects, landscape architects, and artists addressing topics of cultural and artistic production beyond the urban context. LandWorks is located in the former mining village of Argentiera, on the northwest coast of Sardinia.
"The installation of Tilla and Paulina is reactivating the place around the former Latteria on the Piazza of Argentiera. The now empty small kiosk used to be a place of daily routines and public meetings. The collaboration between the two artists begins with the shared practice of collecting as a way to connect with the site. While walking through the village and its surrounding landscapes, they gathered unused textiles from residents, abandoned building materials, and micro-stories to begin mending the Latteria. To work with what is already there and putting it into new relations, became a form of conscientious place making for the artists." A joint report in dialogue format, along with thoughts on the project, can be read here: Scampoli Di Storie
