Extra Porto
Exhibition with drawings by Jakob and Paulina Sycha
My brother Jakob and I spent a year drawing together across the distance from Rotterdam, the Netherlands, to Innsbruck, Austria. In October 2024, we shared this collaborative work in the “Extra Porto” exhibition at Kollektiv Kaorle in Vienna. Extra Porto was an experiment, a personal exchange, a process, and a meeting point. For a year, we sent drawn notes back and forth, responding to each other's sketches and reflecting on the idea of a “finished” drawing. In July 2024, we shared a studio space for a week in Innsbruck, where we created a series of large-scale drawings on textile together. The individual elements of our correspondence influenced and transformed one another. The works could only exist through dialogue.
